ITI is the leading designer and manufacturer of wireless home security systems. The company’s wireless systems utilize sensors that communicate with a control panel using radio signals, in contrast to traditional hardwire systems that connect sensors to the control panel using copper wires. The primary advantage of wireless security systems is the ease of installation, especially in existing construction.
MLGA (a predecessor of Long Point Capital) partnered with the founding management team to purchase ITI from a corporate owner that was divesting its non-core operations.
ITI successfully grew its business due to increased demand from large regional and national alarm monitoring companies, which valued the ease of installation of wireless systems. As a result of the Company’s rapid growth, ITI completed a successful IPO. Long Point exited partially through sales of its stock in the public market, and completely through a sale of the entire company to a strategic buyer that wanted to establish a presence in the home security market.
